Travel Responsibly: As the region recovers from COVID-19, safety guidelines have evolved at attractions, restaurants, shops and hotels. Advance tickets or reservations remain recommended or necessary at many spots. Your best bet: Check online or call ahead.

Many of Philadelphia’s hotels offer visitors (and staycationers!) a chance to hang poolside — sometimes from envious rooftop locales.

After touring the city, hotel guests can lounge among the skyscrapers on the 24th floor of The Windsor Suites Philadelphia or take a lap or two at the posh pool of AKA University City — just two of the alluring pool options in the city’s sandbox.

Most of the hotels featured here offer the Visit Philly Overnight Hotel Package, which always comes with free hotel parking and some serious cool free perks, giving folks even more incentive to book a stay.

Note that lounging and splashing at Philly’s hotel pools might be a little different this year. As of June 2021, some pools have occupancy limits, require reservations or are only for adults; others remain closed to the public. While all the pools below are open as of publication, your best bet is to call or check online ahead of booking a stay so you know what experience to expect.

Here’s a look at some of the city’s hotel pools that are great for relaxing with a book, taking an energizing swim and beating the summer heat.

Note: This article — last updated on June 21, 2021 — is arranged in alphabetical order.
