Many of Philadelphia’s hotels offer visitors (and staycationers!) a chance to hang poolside — sometimes from envious rooftop locales.

Note that lounging and splashing at Philly’s hotel pools might be a little different this year. As of June 2021, some pools have occupancy limits, require reservations or are only for adults; others remain closed to the public. While all the pools below are open as of publication, your best bet is to call or check online ahead of booking a stay so you know what experience to expect.
Here’s a look at some of the city’s hotel pools that are great for relaxing with a book, taking an energizing swim and beating the summer heat.
AKA University City’s heated, stainless steel “pool in the sky,” which measures 75 feet long, is set in a serene aerial space with floor-to-ceiling windows, lending itself well to end-of-day relaxation. White cushion loungers add to the luxurious experience, as do cozy fire pits on the landscaped terrace. Note that, as of June 2021, there is an occupancy limit in the AKA’s pool area.

At the Fitler Club, a modern members-only lifestyle club with 14 hotel rooms available for both members and non-members to book, a 75-foot, three-lane lap pool with hot and cold plunge pools lives within the 25,000-square-foot fitness center. Reservations are required to explore the Fitler Club’s pool area as of June 2021.

The impressive indoor infinity pool at the Four Seasons Hotel Philadelphia at Comcast Center sits on the 57th floor of the tallest building in the city, providing guests with unrivaled panoramic city views while they swim.

Surrounded by three windowed walls and a wrap-around seasonal outdoor sundeck, the fourth-floor pool at the Hilton Philadelphia at Penn’s Landing offers a stunning view of the Delaware River.

Part of the expansive, well-lit underground spa at The Logan, the pool is heated and filled with salt water to prevent post-swim, chlorine-induced dryness. As of June 2021, The Logan’s pool requires reservations and has an occupancy limit.

The high-rated Rittenhouse mainstay boasts a pool inside an atrium with a west-facing outdoor sundeck, offering views of the city’s breathtaking sprawl.

A 20-meter-long heated lap pool sits on a beautifully landscaped terrace at ROOST East Market. Guests can also find community gardens, grills, lounge seating, a dog park and more on the spacious amenity level.

This outdoor rooftop pool at the Sonesta Hotel Philadelphia Rittenhouse Square is open from Memorial Day to Labor Day, with plenty of space to breathe and a stunning view of the skyline. Sofa seaters make it great for sunbathing.

The Wyndham’s outdoor, rooftop pool touts about five feet of depth and operates from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Guests can settle in on any of the loungers or corner tables and soak in the skyline sights.
